Which shops in the UK can I get safety work boots from?
Now, Im 15 and got a placement at Porsche for work experience and I’ll be helping the technicians in the work shop. So, one of the requirements for that is that I have to supply my own safety boots. Which shops in the UK can I get safety boots from that are oil slip resistant? I want to go to shops in the UK so please don’t giver me websites or american stores!! My price range is around £30.
Try local shops (assuming you are of course a UK resident). If there’s a Warehouse Store, that has safety boots in it, but I wouldn’t guarantee they would be oil resistant. You’ll be lucky to get cheap boots that are oil resistant. A good place to try would also be a local Army and Navy Surplus store.
My local ANS store has TONNES of crap you can get in their, not just bodywarmers, camping gear etc, but also boots. You should also check out some local shoe stores…but don’t go to Barrett’s because they’re stuff is pants mush…I bought a pair of boots from them and they didn’t last three weeks, and they cost me £45. All that dosh on something that doesn’t last that long is just not worth the hassle. You’re better off going to a nearby town – or around your own if you live in a town centre – and seeing what’s available so you can buy what you see, instead of buying something you see on a screen that you won’t be too sure about until you finally get it through the post!
You could try Caterpillar (as they also do boots) but you would have to check to see if they have their own website (I can’t be bothered to google it lately, I’m just too tired to do so after seven days straight working!). My first pair of oil resistant boots were actually made by Doc Marten, and you could see if there is anywhere supplying them – but both Marten’s and Cats don’t come all that cheap. Hope you find what you’re looking for dude.
