Trampoline Covers: A Wise Investment

Trampolines, through long use, are subject to normal wear and tear. The net enclosure gets torn and perforated. The safety pads gets damaged and exposed. The springs may gather dust or maybe due to moisture, acquire rust. The trampoline mats may be worn-out and the colors may fade. All these factors may contribute to continuous degradation of your beloved trampolines. So how can we prevent this from happening?

Good thing that trampoline covers are now available. Trampoline covers are designed to protect trampolines against weather conditions such as rains and to keep debris and dirt away as much as possible. Since most people prefer to place their trampolines outside of the house, changing weather conditions may have undesirable effect on the metals and fabric. Water, when combined with oxygen present in the air, can form rust on the metal if left unmaintained. The jumping mats, made of tough fabric will weaken when left exposed to sun, rain and wind elements. Dirt can also accumulate in the insides of the coiled springs which will leave it sticky. If the springs become sticky, it may not be able to expand and contract as easily. Thus, jumping on trampolines will be harder. If the person desires to continue jumping on this kind of trampoline, he would risk injuries due more effort are placed on his knees and lower back to lift his body upwards during rebounding.

Most of the raw materials used in manufacturing trampoline covers are water and UV-resistant. This prevents water from soaking the trampoline covers and penetrating the trampoline itself. UV rays from the sun are known to damage surfaces and this could defeat the cover’s purpose.

Trampoline covers also indicate that the trampoline is currently out of operation and prevents small children from climbing it without an adult supervision. We know that children can get really addicted to playing and jumping on trampolines, as such, they need to be constantly monitored while on trampolines to prevent mishaps and incidents. Teaching the child that a covered trampoline means that it should not be used will make the child understand the limitations and restrictions of his “playing time”.

The covers are also easily foldable when not in use or you may attach it as a permanent fixture at the sides of your trampolines to prevent it from being misplaced. Some think that using trampoline covers can be really time-consuming since you would have to put it over the top of the trampoline and put it out over and over again. However, trampoline covers would secure your investment on trampolines. It will also ease your maintenance operations which in turn will minimize the associated expenses. You do not want to replace the different trampoline parts much earlier than necessary, as this can be much even costly.

There are different sizes and colors available for you to choose from when buying trampoline covers. Some are specific for the trampoline’s shape while some are generic in nature.

To sum it up, having trampoline covers is a wise choice. The benefits far exceed the option of not getting one to protect and lengthen the life of your trampolines.
